Original 1932 Ford Phaeton Hiboy Roadster Hot Rod
The historical facts are these: The car was originally built in Australia in 1932. Ford exported their cars KD (knocked down) and assembled them overseas. There was originally a thick wood sub-frame and wood body cross members rather than steel in these cars. The doors were similar to Chevrolets of the era sheet metal over wood framework. Basically a really flimsy car. All this wood framework has been replaced with steel in this car for a pretty solid car now.
This particular car was exported to the USA by Eddie Ford (no relation) of Australia in 1967. Eddie is a BIG Pheaton collector/seller still active today. It was purchased by a gentleman in Port Townsend. WA. The car sat in dry storage from 1967 until fall 2011. In 2011 the car was built into what you see today by a very respected Washington hot rodder.
I have the full history of the car from 1967 to present.
The car was built as a real gravel road hot rod beater. This car is real solid but rough around the edges…Built that way on purpose. Brushed paint. minimal interior. down and dirty chassis. etc.
Original '32 Henry Ford steel Phaeton body. Brush painted. In very good condition. no rust or rot! ALL wood sub-frames replaced with steel. Windshield chopped in the '60's. Dropped commercial lights. Louvered hood. Most of the car is original '32. There are some repro pieces in the mix: rear luggage rack. LED taillights (They are really bright so you can be seen day/night).
Original '32 ford frame. boxed in all the right places with '34 crossmember. Old P&J frontend with Wilson welding Buick drums. Stock '74 350 engine. Holley carb. Pertonix module. Block hugger headers. Fresh TH 350 trans. Aluminum radiator with elec fan. Transverse leaf rear with ladder bars. Currie 8 inch housing/axles. Rear drum brakes. Runs/Drives Perfect! Would get in and drive cross-country today!!
Leather '32 Ford Tudor buckets. Adjustable drivers seat. the passenger seat folds forward. Original dash oval with two period SW gauges. 50's Hudson steering column with original Banjo wheel. NO back seat.
Full tonneau . NO Top. Most of the trim is original. New wiring harness. small Odyssey battery. New Firestone bias ply tires. I have build pics and a lot more info.
