This is a 1964 AMC Rambler Classic 770 Hardtop V 8. The car has the 287 2 barrel V 8 which was AMC's first generation V 8 engine. a three speed automatic transmission. manual drum brakes. rim blow steering wheel with power steering. combination cloth/vinyl seats and the rear vibratone radio option. The car is in very good condition. solid as can be seen in the pictures. The paint shines up really well but has some imperfections from when it was repainted and the the carpet inside is showing some age and the wheels are coated Javlin wheels but all cosmetic items. The car runs and drives great. we take it all over and have no reservations on a 3-4 hour long distance trip. just came back from a trip to Vermont a few weeks ago. The engine runs strong and pulls 50 psi of oil pressure. no smoke. The transmission was rebuilt over last winter and has about 3000 mile on the rebuild. I also completely rebuilt the front suspension. including all new urethane bushings. and new trunnions ( for those who are familiar with AMC cars these are not an easy task to replace) and the brakes were completely rebuilt including shoes. wheel cylinders and a new master 500 miles ago. I have complete set of weather stripping for the the car that goes with it. I was going to replace it all this past winter but the front end work took much longer than anticipated. This car is a solid driver and really needs nothing mechanically. just add gas and go. I have enjoyed this car for several years and with it being rare and in good condition i always get mobbed at car shows with people asking questions. It gets as much attention as cuda's. chevelle's mustangs etc. I am selling it because I just don't have any more space and I already have two other classic custom vehicles and although I have enjoyed this car thoroughly I am still a Ford guy at heart.
