1973 Morris Mini 1380
Being sold because the owner has emigrated.
Fully rebuilt in 2008.
The engine has been rebuilt and tuned by the legendary Richard Longman to the following spec:
Pre A+ cylinder block bored to 1380 cc
Omega dished pistons
Block depluged
New core plugs
Faced
New cam bearings
A+ crank ground balanced
Tuftrided
Comp crank bearings
290 degree camshaft
New followers
Oil and water pumps
GT 14 U/L cylinder head - 37. 5 mm inlets x 29 mm ex valves
1. 5:1 roller tip rockets
Rod change gearbox with SC/CR 4 synchro gears
S/C transfer gears
4 pin diff with 3. 4:1 final drive
Centre oil pick up pipe
All new bearings e. t. c
Lightened balanced flywheel/clutch back plate with comp clutch assembly
Aldon red competition distributor
Facet red electronic fuel pump
Weber 45 dcoe carburettor
Before having the engine rebuilt it had only covered 14526 miles and I still have the original centre dial and previous mots showing this from 1990 onwards. Since having the engine back from Richard Longman it has only covered 9000 miles. This engine is a little beast and incredibly enjoyable to drive. with the straight cut gears and weber carb it has a very unique sound that you cant help but love.
