1970 280SL automatic with cold working a/c, Pagoda version for sale
Current customer rating:
A NO RESERVE AUCTIONThis 1970 Mercedes Benz 280 SL automatic with a new and very cold a/c system is my wife's car.
She has thoroughly enjoyed it. especially driving around on warm summer evenings. The beautiful condition is reflected by the very few miles on the odometer.
She is not the original owner. so I can't verify the correct mileage. however. it appears to be accurate.
Recently the SL has had new tires. brake lines and has just returned from the local car detailer.
The complete a/c unit has been replaced and it works. unlike other SL's which have the original unit.
The red paint is about 4 years old and shows extremely well.
There are a couple of miniscule highway chips but no dents or door dings.
Can't even get them to show up on the pics.
The black canvas top is relatively new with only one very small wear mark on the lower driver side caused from putting the top up and down into the top boot.
Rear window is nice and clear with no yellowing.
It does have a red Pagoda top that matches the body paint.
She said it has a piece of chrome missing but I couldn't determine what the missing piece is after a close inspection.
The leather interior is a dark and deep maroon which contrasts well with the exterior paint.
No tears. rub marks or wear locations.
A few months ago she had the valves adjusted. had a tune up which included an oil/filter change.
This 280 SL has the larger 6 cylinder and is quite peppy.
Not a rocket. but then it is driven casually around town.
The engine bay is nice and clean with no evidence of oil or other fluid leaks.
It is being sold because she moved up to an SL 500 and this is now an extra vehicle for us.
Note that Connecticut is a non title state for cars over 25 years of age.
The previous owners clear signed off title will be provided as will a notarized bill of sale.
I will entertain reasonable offers as long as the buyer has the cash available to conclude the transaction.
No low ball offers will be entertained.
A Paypal deposit of $500 will be required immediately when sold.
A wire transfer for the balance is preferable but if a bank check is sent for payment it will have to clear before the SL will be delivered.
This is a wonderful SL and continues to increase in value each year.
Better investment than real estate.
Good luck in your offers and I will respond to all questions.
