1972 Volkswagen VW Camper Campervan Bay Window

1600cc Engine/gearbox – Engine fully rebuilt 2 years ago. Within the last year. new twin carburettor set up with new pletronics electronic ignition. new HT leads. new distributor. new spark plugs. new ignition coil. new oil pump. reconditioned dynamo. all new fuel lines and fire suppression system.   Runs incredibly well. can cruise easily at 70mph if you like the motorway route. For those who prefer the adventures on the country lanes. she can easily handle the slopes as well. Fitted with a new ‘freeway flyer' gear box 3 years ago to give better cruising economy and all gears are strong.

Exhaust – Phat boy 4-1 performance exhaust. Gives increased power and sounds fantastic.

Bodywork – New panels fitted by previous owner. new arches. no serious rust anywhere on van. There is some surface rust in the drainage channels and roof but nothing deep and it adds to the rat look.

Exterior – Riviera conversion ‘poptop roof' with front roof rack storage area. Fusch replica Porsche wheels. aluminium side step. Halogen headlight  upgrade. new main battery. new leisure battery with split charge relay.

Interior – Custom interior. new headlining. new curtains. new rear seat/rock and roll bed covers. New ‘buddy seat' with cool box space below. There is a swing out kitchen section with gas powered grill and 2 hobs. excellent in summer and winter. can cook inside in the rain and outside in the sun.   The gas has just been refilled so should be good for another 10 months at least. The wooden floor is in excellent condition and very practical for keeping clean. Under the dashboard there is a bamboo tray. really useful for phones. food. drinks. There is currently no glove box but I will fit one if the price is right.

4 New speakers for Sony stereo. gives a great sound and has inputs for your ipod/mp3 device. Comes with remote control so you can control from bed.   There is also a cigarette lighter in the rear powered from the leisure battery.  Combine the two and you can watch films in bed on your ipad with great sound all night!

Thatcham 2 immobiliser fitted by authorised electrician 1 year ago. Comes with 2 fobs and certificate for insurance.

Obviously this is a 41 year old van so it is not perfect. there is a bit of surface rust on the top bodywork but nothing on the chassis or nothing serious.

In summary. this is a great van. passed her last MOT. I have plenty of receipts and paperwork to show. Described here in every detail. no nasty surprises.  A reluctant sell but want to invest in a new project. Any questions. feel free to ask.
