Buck advertised the GNX model as the fastest accelerating production car at the time of its release

Car and Driver quote from the May of 87 issue  " In a world of sleek shapes and refined manners. the GNX is a ax wielding barbarian laying waste to everything in its path. "

0 to 60 in 4. 7 seconds.  Making it both a tire shredder and a giant killer.

Rated at a modest 276 HP360ft/lbs of torque.  When Tested it was about 300plus HP

The great no no of GM making the GNX the one car that beat the Corvette. and that's why it was a limited one year run. Making this car so special to have and collect.

These cars where build by Buick and ASC McLaren a  $10. 00 GNX option on top of the $29. 90 sticker price of the Grand National.

Many changes where make to accommodate the power increase for this Barbarian. A special Garrett "Hybrid" T-s Turbocharger that uses a very lightweight ceramic impeller.  A special 200 R4 Hydromantic Transmission. a special deferential . ear axle pan hard bar. and torque resisting ladder bars.

body mods included  bigger fender flairs. nbsp;fender vents. more body reinforcement bars. 6 inch wheels.
