This is the nicest Toyota FJ 40 that I have ever seen or driven.
After purchasing the vehicle in TX I drove it to one of the best vehicle restoration shops in FL for a complete frame off restoration. More than $70 k was invested over a little more than 1 year.
Every part carefully disassembled. every nut and bolt was removed and sandblasted. engine was completely disassembled and overhauled. My goal was to produce an FJ 40 that was as close to factory original as possible (from every angle including underneath. as if it just rolled off the factory floor).
Mission accomplished.
And I am now on to my next project.
The only parts left to restore are the steering wheel (I have been looking for a new one but haven't located one yet.
The old one is chipped and covered under vinyl cover). and the original Warn Winch (the winch pulls as designed but the release solenoids need to be replaced.
This is relatively simple and easy).
