Hello and welcome to this very unique auction.

It is for this charming 1938 Austin 7

People say good things come in small packages. in this instance that is totally correct. This little car has tremendous charm and will make you smile whatever your interest may be.

She was stored away in 1986 after her owner was too old to drive anymore. A strong family bond with her made it impossible to sell. so she sat in dry storage until 4 years ago.

She was purchased by a close friend of my father in law. a fellow Austin enthusiast. Who regrettably needs to sell her due to limited space.

She is a 1938 model fitted with the standard 800cc engine. This particular model is classed as the ‘4 light'. It is Morris maroon over black running boards.

Car Specs/Info:

-      Easy clean wheels fitted with 5 brnd new Firestone crossply tyres & tubes.

-      4 brand new hubcaps and headlamp rims

-      A total top to bottom re-trim was done at some stage. Consisting of door cards. carpets and front/rear seats. All of which are show standard and have that period worn in feel. The photos don't do it justice. the interior is superb!

-      Spare rear screen and various odds and sods

-      The engine runs a treat. started eagerly after general fettling. No smoke or deterring noises are present.

-      It selects gear well and drives as an Austin of this period should

-      Brakes work. although i would personally go thru them before regular use

-      The car is very complete and has not been messed with.

-      Comes with a period picnic basket

-      Lots of history and club magazines

-      V5c present

-      MOT & Tax exempt

Points of interest:

-      The front bumper needs re-chroming ideally

-      Starter handle not present as it was kept by the first family as a memento

-      Paintwork past its best but period presentable

-      Headlining has come detached at the very front

-      Sliding sun roof has had the apparently popular ‘steel section' upgrade where basically it has been blanked to stop water leaks. This area hosts the worst area of paint finish and does require cosmetics to make presentable.

-      Corrosion to rear of the o/s sill - but other than that is remarkably rot free. Parts catalogue comes with car and parts are easy maintainable

Overall this car has stood the test of time well. admittedly its had a long sleep but its a real treat to see a strong survivor like this one. In the right restorers hands this car will be a great investment and a generally nice piece of motoring history to own.

This car is being sold as a project. but it is one in which you can drive as is and fix up at your leisure. However with the interior being in such great condition its a great starting point. Not to mention its 4 new rubber boots.

Personally I would go thru the brakes. service the engine and repair the sill. This car is itching to see the open road. So if anyone out there can give this car a chance to do so - get bidding it deserves you!

Hi. nbsp;
I have just had a good look at the V5c and it does not state that the reg number has been transferred. So i assume that it is the original number and that it could be transferred (personally i would not but it is new owners choice)
There is nothing stating otherwise. Usually it states in the notes section 'non transferrable no'.
Sorry for this late info. i assume this is important to some.
Many thanks to all interested parties.
