1989 BMW 3-Series E30 for sale
Current customer rating:
FOR SALE : 1989 BMW E 30 325 i. Zinno Red 6 sp. Clean CARFAX. All Stickers on body.
I bought this car 2 years ago as an unfinished project from the previous owner. It has a Clean CARFAX and was originally sold in California and spent most of its life in Oklahoma and Texas. No salt exposure so clean chassis.
The S 54 M 3 swap (60 k on motor) was done by a shop in Texas called Spec Motorsports (no longer in business). When I bought the car the body had no rust at all since it came from the midwest. However. the paint was very tired and it had a very bad respray from the past. I decided to strip the car down to a metal shell (windows removed) and repaint the whole car in the original Zinnobart Red. I bought new recovered IS front seats and put in a IS steering wheel. I will be installing the passenger seat which is also in perfect "as new" recovered condition as the drivers seat. I also installed a perfect Crack FREE dash at great expense. This car is a total rocket and has over 320 hp in a 2800 lb car. What is also unique is that it has A/C (needs recharge) and a 6 speed manual transmission from a ZHP 330 i. It also has E 36 M 3 5 lug swap/brakes. Ground Control Coilovers w/camber plates. all new sway links and control arms and bushings. Car drives tight. Staggered hub centric SSR Forged wheels 17 x 7 17 x 8. 5 w/new Sumitomo 245 40 17. 215 40 17 tires.
The car runs and drives and shifts great with nice click click to the shifter. but I have too many projects (3) E 30 M 3 restorations) and not enough time or funds to make this car 100% perfect. As with any car that is over 28 years old. it will need new door seals. detailing of body. a new headliner. and a tach adapter for the gauge cluster to read RPM. Rest of cluster reads fine. I have done all the hard work and have over $23 k invested in this project. I know I won't get that money back. but for someone who wants a clean E 30 with a S 54 swap and is willing to put a little time into it to make it perfect then this is the car for you. I have only driven this car 100 miles since completion so my loss is your gain. All fresh new mechanical and suspension parts.
One last thing. The car recently would crank over freely. but the engine would not fire up. In order to start the car you need to do a push start to kick the car on. I think one of the relays are bad. Also crank sunroof does not open. Like I said earlier I have no more time or funds to mess with the car. It has a clean Virginia title with clean CARFAX history. Will be sold AS IS.
Please message me if you want to see a video of the car running and overview. Ebay doesn't allow links. Thanks!
