1960 LOTUS Seven Series 1 IRS RHD Street or Track for sale
Current customer rating:
Now at age 75. after many years of restoring old race cars. we have sold our main shop building. and it's time to sell off most our accumulated stock of parts . and many of our cars.
Lotus Seven Series one cars were intended for both Street and Track
Engine being freshened now. brake system being split. and car will be ready for transport in two weeks.
We sell many complete Vintage Race cars. etc to Europe. Australia. and elsewhere annually. and can assist with buyers shipping arrangements
We can help with arrangements to have the Lotus shipped quickly to a Terminal in Long Beach California . or other terminals of your choice.
This is a good opportunity to purchase this car. fly to Birmingham Alabama. /
and race at the beautiful World Class Barber Motorsports Historics
May 18-21
then have the car shipped immediately to Europe.
Last on track in 2016 .
This Lotus has an Alabama Vintage Tag & insurance( making export easy). and I occasionally retard the spark a bit and drive it on the road. It was last driven in March 2017 . then I pulled the motor to get ready for Pittsburg's Schenley Park Gran Prix and Put in Bay Historics . also possibly the Barber HMSA Historics in May. Lotus Chassis is frame # L 563/763 which was built by Lotus Mar 1960. It has a beautiful alloy original slant nose with incredible metal workmanship.
Rear suspension is 4 link IRS using Lotus 14 components. one of a half dozen or so IRS cars built.
Original wheels are 13" front 15" rears.
Triumph discs in the front and drum BMC rears.
Not shown. I have since found and added a correct mirror on the center of the cowl. Will need tires. and a fuel cell if required by your group.
Everything else is ' new '. and the car delivers as 'ready to drive'. Originally a Ford 100 E 1100. it has had a BMC motor since coming to North America.
The car ships " ready to drive"
The book picture was taken in the late 1970's by Dennis Ortenburger. and is in his famous book "Legend of the Seven".
Prior to me locating the car. it had been in collector storage in Phoenix Arizona for the last 3 decades. and prior to that. Ohio area racing. before that through Canada from the UK.
If I wasn't 75. I would not consider selling the car.
