1972 L - Alfa 2000 GT Veloce Coupe - For Restoration

I purchased this car a couple of years ago with the intention of undertaking a full restoration however 2 years on and after collecting some 22 more projects my warehouse is full and the project is no nearer being started so I have decided to advertise some cars "as is" to make space and fund the ongoing works on others.

The Alfa is finished in its Original Colour of Dutch Blue with Beige Vinyl Upholstery & the quite rare ( but ugly in my oppinion ) factory fitted turbina alloy wheels. I purchased the car from its first owner who used the car regularily up until about 1997 when due poor health the car was laid up. Prior to being laid up the car had quite a lot of restoration works undertaken to include new sills. repaint and a full engine rebuilt with new pistons and liners - the Car was re-commissioned in 2003 but sadly only used for that season clocking up less than 1000 miles before being laid up again due to the owners poor health.

The bodywork is actually quite good. better than you will probably imagine. I have picked at the obvious rust scabs to see what i had bought and its all quite sound . Obviously repairs will be needed and It will need a base rear screen panel and some patching to the rear wings and door tops - opinion differs on repair or replacement as the panel fit is very good. Personally iIwould replace but as I say bodyshop opinion differs. I have checked the underneath and a small amount or repair will be needed on the passenger side front but all sills etc still appear sound. The car was ziebarted from new so perhaps explains why this one hasn't dissolved. I haven't attempted to start the engine but it appears to rotate freely and the invoices suggest it was rebuilt less than a 1. 00 miles ago.

The car is complete and unmolested and is the basis of a cracking project - with such low ownerage. low mileage. historic status and amazing originality restored properly this has all the makings of a real keeper worthy of a place in any collection.

Original Handbook & Service Book is still with the car as are the invoices for work undertaken and old MOT's - A Rare Find
