Antique and Classic Automotive Inc. offered this 1931 Alpha Romeo. Breathtaking. Challenging. Hands-down winner in Sicily's Targa Florio. Italy's Mille Miglia and England's Shelsley-Walsh hill-climb. Engineered by the great Vittorio Jano to lift itself clear of the touring car ranks and into the spotlight of the true racing sport scar. Originals of these noble champions of Grand Prix fame are nearly extinct. Those that live today are guarded behind lock and key and are priceless.

So Antique & Classic Automotive's replica version of one of the hottest performing sport scars ever conceived truly permits you to go back in time. Long. gleaming hood and rakish radiator. Distinctive tail section. Authentically styled half round cycle fenders. Chrome headlamps. Brooklands style safety glass windscreen. Machine turned dash overlay. Simulated exhaust manifold. radiator cap. gas filler and tank cap.

It shows some wear and tear from use over the years but is a very reliable perfomer.

History

The bodywork of this competition bombshell is reminiscent of an aircraft fuselage narrow in front. and gradually widening toward the rear. The machine has a both brutal and harmonious appearance. The headlamps and mudguards were added when this car took part in endurance races. as this was a time when the same race car was often used for a Grand Prix or a long-distance event. In fact. while Alfa 8 C 2300 s were known for winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years straight (1931-1934). the model got the Monza nickname because Nuvolari and Giuseppe Campari drove one to win the 1931 Italian GP. Another 8 C 2300 was 2 nd.
