1968 GT 500 Shelby Mustang

Two things we love at Road Scholars: perfect cars. and perfect provenance. And this Shelby is as perfect as the day it was delivered new to Theodore Robbins Ford in Costa Mesa. California.

This rare GT 500 Shelby Mustang was built in November of 1967 as 1 of 3 1968 GT 500 convertibles offered in "Triple Black. " Equipped with the 400 horsepower Cobra 427 CID engine. this is a gorgeous. unique. rust-free Shelby Mustang Convertible with the highly-coveted 427 Side Oiler Cross bolt main. and 1967 GT 500 Dual four BJ BK carburetors. This rare Shelby Mustang convertible is one of the best ever made.

The original owner had this car until the early 2000 s. In a letter from Theodore Robbins dated 1996. we are told the motor was dealer installed (no date of when it is listed). The 2008 Shelby registry states it had the 427 also. This Shelby was meticulously restored by David Randal of Randal's Restorations and we are pleased to be able to offer it through Road Scholars.
