You are looking at my favorite Citroen 2 CV Truckette. This amazing little guy is a familiar sight at surfing beaches in southern California and Baja. It has benefited from an overhauled motor a few years ago. fresh new clutch. installation of the Dutch '123 Electronic ignition'. and runs on full synthetic oil of which it has never burned a drop. Mileage on regular gas is around 50 mpg. Most important was replacement of the entire frame tub a couple of years due to the original one being rusty. As a mechanic who specialized in Citroens I know the weak points on 2 cv frames so prior to installing the new one I welded gusseted panels along the frame to firm it up. a 2 CV frame on steriods! I also installed a rear anti-sway bar from a Renault R-5 'Le Car' which was a perfect fit and helps with yaw around corners (though rest assured it still feels like a 2 CV). Cosmetically it needs some TLC but would be a fun and easy summer project that can be driven anywhere. as long as your not in a big hurry as she will cruise at 65 mph all day - until you find a hill. Ha. I'm away too much to enjoy the car as I should and hate to see it just sit around. Surprisingly parts are readily available and affordable for these great cars from a number of specialist suppliers here in the USA. It has been shown at various car shows ranging from a Citroen gathering in Ventura. CA to the Tubac annual classic car show near Tucson where it scooped "Most Unique Auto" award in a field of over 500 cars. Always driven to shows. never trailered (I even camped in it at a couple of shows). The surfboard rack on the roof could be easily removed but never leaks and is very useful. same for the tow hitch. If your looking for a really reliable. cool. fun little car that you won't see everyday look no further. Though my friends and I like its "patina" it could be cleaned up to be a real charmer with very little effort and money. Please email with any questions prior to bidding and I will answer. Thanks
