Custom 32 Ford Roadster. built at Kugel Komponents. This one-of-a-kind Street Rod reflects the standard of excellence that justifies the six figure price tags often associated with this elite Hot Rod shop. This is a new car. and was first on display at the Grand National Roadster Show. held at the Los Angeles Fairplex. Pomona. California. January 25 - 27 2013.
Pleasing to the eye. this roadster has an elegant. understated presence when seen in person. Finished in a subtle Ferarri Grey. the taseful theme continues into the Leather Interior. The finish bodywork and paint is by Freedom Autobody. La Habra. CA. and the interior was stitched by Willie at Bill's Auto Upholstery. Brea. CA.
Modifications that contribute to the sleek lines aren't a secret. but they are extensive. The body is the fiberglass creation of Jesse Greening. and the perfect fitting. stretched aluminum hood is the work of Marcel's Custom Metal. Corona CA. The Grill is from Dan Fink and is polished Stainless Steel. The custom frame rails are by Thunder Road. further modified by Kugel. The front and rear suspension are Kugel's very best. The front is a Polished Stainless Steel Push Rod IFS outfitted with 13" Wilwood Rotors and 6 Piston Calipers. The brakes are actuated by the new Kugel 180* Balance Bar Brake Systems. with dual Wilwood Master Cylinders. The rear suspension is a Fully Independent. Quickchange. Polished Aluminum with 3. 85:1 gears. with Polished Stainless Steel Control Arms and Custom Hub Carriers. The Shocks are QA 1 with Eibach Springs.
The highly detailed undercarriage has Stainless Steel Brake and Fuel lines. and Black Anodized fittings.
The wheels are Boyd F 22's with Firestone Tires. 17 x 7 in the front. and 20 x 10 in the rear. Small Block Chevys have been a Hot Rod mainstay since 1955. so it's only fitting that this car be running one of the last (and best) Small Block Chevys - a 1995 Fuel Injected LT-1. It's backed by a 4 L-60 e Transmission. wired with an engine wiring harness from Hot Rod Harness. com. Sanderson Headers flow to a Black Ceramic coated Exhaust System with Cut Outs if the Stainless Specialties Mufflers are too mellow for you. The Exhaust Flanges are Kugel's 6 Bolt Flanges to ensure no leaks. The Steering Column is a Flaming River tilt. with a Budnik wheel. The Shifter is a Lokar. and the heater is from Vintage Air. Kugel's own products include the Cast Aluminum Windshield Frame featuring curved glass. Custom Side Mirrors. and Kugel Stainless Steel Brake Pad and Gas Pedal. The headlights (Jesse Greening) are mounted on custom Kugel Billet Headlight Brackets. There's even a custom electric License Plate bracket that retracts out of sight so you can ignore red light cameras. The Door Latches are from Clayton Machine Works. smooth latching and ensuring perfect door alignment. The car has about 1200 street driven miles on it. enough to work out any "new car gremlins". It's very comfortable to drive. the ride is supple. yet it's like driving a precision slot car. nimble and effortlessly fast.
