Vauxhall Velox 1956 Ute /Pick up

Here we have the very regrettable sale of my 1956 velox ute. it is a genuine australian  ute which has been imported and all duties have been paid . As you can see from the pictures it is in excellent condition and is a very solid example of this model. At some point in the past some one has taken care of it  as the chassis and leaf springs have been painted black. there is no rust or rot on the chassis that i can see. The pick up bed itself is in amazing condition with just a few pin holes of rust in the larger cross member but nothing to get concerned about. The wheel arches in the bed are dented as you can see from the pictures but it is a 57 year old commercial so you wouldnt expect much less. The sides of the bed have the 3 of the original incerts as you can see from the pictures still with the metal attachments from the factory to allow you to change the rear bulbs with out taking the incerts out. The tail gate mechanism still works and locks the tailgate . lthough there is a dent on the top right hand  edge of the tailgate the actual tailgate itself is solid. It still has the vauxhall badge on it. There is a rolled panel under the tail gate which will need repairing but i am lead to believe that its not a big job. I am not a welder or fabricator and everybody has different views to what isnt a big job. There is no seat for the pick up and i may be wrong but a saloon seat would do the job quite well. The floor of the cab as you can see is excellent as is the area behind where the seat goes. There is the need for a couple of repairs by the a posts on the floor but again you can see them in the pictures. not that bad at all . All the clocks and dials are there as is the glove box etc. The actual body work of the ute is so good . he wings are excellent with no rust. apart from surface. the drivers door is excellent . The passenger door has a shallow dent in it but there is a N. O. S passenger door with the pick up . o thats not a problem. Both doors shut well and the winders work. The sides of the pick up are excellent  . ith a couple of dents but again not to much to get concerned about. There is even some old sign writing on the off side by the drivers door to give a little bit of a clue to where shes from. On the whole a very good example that wouldnt take alot of time to put on the road as is. I have tried to be as honest as i can about the pick up and put on the pictures that show you how good it is. But as we all know everybody has different views on what is good and what isnt and i would strongly advise any one who is seriously interested to take the time to come and see it before you bid. hese pick ups dont come along for sale very often and i know that i will probably have hundreds of watchers and hundreds of silly questions but i know out there. there is some one who will give this ute the home and care  that she deserves Obviously the ute will need to be trailered away. Please noteI forgot to mention the fact that the pick up does run . lthough the carb leaks alot. There is no fluid in the braking system . o  assume that the brakes will need a complete over haul.
