On Sep-12-13 at 19:52:51 PDT. seller added the following information:

1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi. 5 speed manual. 12. 00 miles. 3 owners. meticulously maintained by a Ferrari enthusiast. red with beige interior. just serviced.

I am selling this car to make room for a newer sports car and a new automotive experience.   I have owned it for seven years during which time it has covered only 1000 miles.   It currently shows 12. 00 miles and I have all the original manuals and many maintenance records for the car.   The miles are all original but there is a discrepancy in Auto Check due to an incorrect mileage reported by California emissions.   The incorrect mileage reported was due to the TUBI stainless aftermarket exhaust installation.   I have all the documentation from my purchase of the vehicle and the appropriate title history.   The title history and maintenance records are evidence the mileage represented is original.   It is extremely difficult to find a 1982 308 GTSi with only 12. 00 miles and only two recorded owners.   Please read the detailed description. view the album and request additional pictures as required.   The car is available for inspection by serious buyers.

History:

The car was originally owned by two other Ferrari enthusiasts. the first purchase of the car was new in Chicago and the owner drove it only in perfect weather conditions.   The second owner lived in California and hired a broker to sell the car in 2006.  The car was babied during the first and second owner's 24 years as custodians of the vehicle.   The second owner decided to sell the vehicle in 2006 to make room for a newer Ferrari.   It was at that time I purchased the car with 12k miles on it and shipped it back to Cedar Falls. IA where I have continued to meticulously maintain it for the last seven years.   Currently it is in excellent condition and the car drives as new with no flaws in performance.   Obviously the vehicle starts. runs. shifts. handles perfectly and has no cosmetic or mechanical issues.   The doors. trunk and engine hatch open and close as new with no flaws.   I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country if desired however that would add 30% to the original mileage.

In selling the Ferrari my goal is full disclosure on the exact condition of the car.   I have owned many collector cars and I am very particular about condition assessment and ratings.   In a few words. I would describe this as a car of show quality in perfect exterior and mechanical condition.   I have a library of photos that can be emailed upon request.    The car has just been advertised locally and in Chicago therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.   HOWEVER. the reserve on this auction is similar to cars with more than twice the mileage in more worn condition.   If you are near Cedar Falls Iowa and are serious about purchasing a Ferrari 308 GTSi in excellent condition I highly recommend inspecting this car.   You will not be disappointed.

Exterior:

The exterior shows nearly as new.  From three feet away the car and paint looks nearly perfect.   From eight feet away the car looks like new.   Please look at the pictures and ask any questions.   Obviously the car has never been in an accident or damaged in any way.   The car is ready for any show and requires no work or reconditioning.

Interior:

Both the front seats and the rear seat are in excellent condition and would benefit only from a thorough leather cleaning to bring the seats to “as new” condition.   The center console is in excellent condition.   The dash is in excellent condition.   The carpets are in excellent condition.   The headliner is in very good condition but hanging slightly off the targa roof. which can be easily repaired.   The seatbelts are correct and in excellent condition.   The original Blaupunkt AM/FM Cassette is installed in the car.   The power antenna. windows and cigarette lighter all work.

Mechanical:

Perfect. original matching numbers 3. 0L V8. The car has been babied and the transmission shifts smoothly.   Obviously there are no fluid leaks.   The belts all are in perfect condition with approximately 2000 miles on them.   The air conditioning components are original but require recharge or conversion to R34 ($250) to function as new.   The brakes work perfectly and the clutch is in excellent condition.   The car has manual steering.   All suspension components are in perfect condition. and the car drives extremely well with no known mechanical issues.

Terms and conditions:

If you win this auction the car is considered sold.   Less than 100% feedback bidders must contact me prior to bidding.   Please e-mail me for additional pictures or send me your phone number and a time to call if you would like to discuss further details on the car.   I encourage local inspections prior to bidding.   $2000 due within 48 hours of auction close.   Remaining funds due within one week in the form of cash or certified funds.   Buyer is responsible for all shipping/transportation costs.   I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally.
