VW Volkswagen Bay Window Single Cab not many of these around only see a couple at shows This was meant to be a keeper hence the work carried out. but just been given the opportunity to buy the property we rent so needs must. so not looking for any P/X so please don't ask
Just undergone a 4 month winter body resto. the idea was to get everything solid and replace all panels that needed it. the plan was to keep it ratty looking so a matting agent was added to the 2 Pack paint and only the bottom section below the tailgates and new panels were resprayed in the original Dove Blue. was going to the flat the paint back at a later date to age the paint look. or have whole van resprayed the front doors. Engine lids and drops are all original paint.

all welding was completed underneath and then the whole thing was waxoyled.

I have loads of photos of the work carried out. / It is solid as a rock underneath and no major rust The engine was removed and completely stripped and serviced last week all new gaskets. plugs. leads etc with a new clutch fitted and new Mahle Barrels & Pistons fitted all tinware was painted or replaced and engine bay cleaned and painted looks really good and fresh. At the same time a new fuel pump. fuel pipe. chrome rocker covers. new pulley wheels. oil filler. mechanical advance distributor. coil. fan housing and brand new twin solex carbs Engine is a 1600 cc twin port All carbs and the timing have all been set up properly

Brand new Battery fitted Only done about 250 miles since rebuild which all in all cost around £1200 Creative Engineering Narrowed & Lowered Disc Brake Conversion Rear lowered too Twin pack exhaust
2 x new Genuine Wheel arches fitted £500
2 x new genuine Sills £70
2 x new Rear Corners £250 (took about 3 months to source) 1 x new Rear Valance I do have the rear bumper it just needs new Bumper Irons New Floor Section Treasure Chest area New Genuine Engine Lid & Treasure Chest Seal 2 x New Genuine Mirrors Wheels are original and have been shot blasted and powder coated red (they were next on my list to change to a set of Polished Fuchs) Fresh MOT after bodywork was done so good till Feb 2014 Original Austrian Service book stamped up to 2006 Taxed till August 2013 V 5 Present 3 former keepers
