1984 Range Rover Classic - superb for sale

Here we have a lovely early 4 door Range Rover Classic. in its original Venetian Red paintwork and superb "Teddy Bear" velour interior. Supplied new by Central Garage of Middleton on the Wolds in North Humberside. the car was registered on 1st January 1984 to a Mr. Turner of Barlby. who owned the car for 4 years. having it serviced by the supplying dealer five times during this period up to 24. 00 miles. Sold to Land Rover specialists Roger M. Bass of Romford in November 1987. who then sold the car to its long term owner. a Mr Puttock of Basildon. He used the Range Rover as his family vehicle for about ten years. putting the car into long term storage at his home in 1997. Mr Puttock always intended to recommission and use the car when his sons were old enough to drive. however they showed little interest in the car so in 2012 he put the car up for sale.

Since acquiring the car in late 2012. I have recommissioned it and am pleased to offer it for sale as a rare early 4 door Range Rover. in highly original condition throughout. The recommissioning works have included a small repair to one inner wing. a new outer offside sill panel. rebuilt carburettors. new oil pump gears and filter. new fuel pump. full stainless steel exhaust system. a thorough clean of the cylinder heads. hydraulic tappets and rocker assemblies with all new gaskets. and a full service. In addition. I had a new windscreen and rubber seal fitted (original one had a crack in it). and a new windscreen washer pump.

Other than the offside outer sill and nearside inner wing repair mentioned above. the remainder of the bodyframe and the entire chassis had survived in excellent structural condition. and has been thoroughly cleaned and given a thin coat of Wurth underbody wax. The car is fitted with a newly refurbished set of Rostyle steel wheels. with correct pattern Michelin X M+S tyres.

The interior of the car is in wonderful condition. with virtually no wear to the Bronze velour covered seats. and very good carpets throughout. As is normally the case. the headlining had sagged whilst in storage. so this has been recovered in the correct foam-backed brushed nylon material sourced from Woolies Trim. The door cards and other interior trim panels are in very good original condition.

The outer body panels are in good order. with just a few small areas of electrolytic reaction and a couple of blemishes around the front indicator repeaters on the front wings.
