1982 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser - 12HT Diesel 5-speed - Tastefully reworked

Up for sale is a 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser with the venerable 12 HT diesel and H 55 F transmission

This clean Northwest FJ 40 was torn down to bare bones last year for a complete drive train conversion with an imported Japanese 12 HT engine and 5-speed from Toyota.

Everything mechanical was attended. including rear diff. t-case. transmission. engine. front axle. steering. and suspension.

We did not perform a paint/body restoration on this cruiser because it was in reasonable condition (about 6/10).

A previous owner has repainted it. and there is some surface rust showing in the corners and edges (as seen in pics). but overall the metal is solid and no rusted through areas have been identified.

The current owner has decided to move up to something bigger. so he's selling this cruiser to start building another expedition vehicle.

We have been asked to sell it on his behalf. and we'll be building his next vehicle after this one has moved on to a "worthy" home.

Here are some specs on the build and conversion (Better put in a list rather than paragraphs and paragraphs of nonsense)

12 HT diesel engine installed last year. engine had 250 k km's on the clock when we removed it from a 1989 HJ 61 half cut H 55 F transmission was installed. originally from Toyota dealer bought brand new New clutch and rear main seal. machined flywheel. etc Engine was torn down to long block and re-sealed. new belts. water pump. paint. etc with all OEM parts
Rebuilt turbo Ceramic coated turbo exhaust housing and exhaust manifold Cleaned and painted block and accessories Added 2 nd alternator for extra electrical system Rebuilt and re-wound 24 volt alternator for 12 voltsre-worked starter for 12 volts instead of 24 (Using factory Toyota parts)
Custom power steering lines made with hard and soft lines Transfer case was rebuilt with new bearings and gaskets (FJ 62 split case was used)custom crossmember brackets created. and used factory brace for transmission mount

This cruiser is available to test drive at Torfab in Mukilteo. WA (Just north of Seattle).
