It was a dry  car all its life and was one owner – the original owner maintained the car very well.

It has even all the original stampings on the front guards and engine bay.

Here is an excellent MK V Lincoln Continental to buy – you will be the car's real first ‘Aussie  owner' /user since it was purchased new. and everything that a good loving first owner would do. seemingly has been done re this MKV. And because the car has not sat unused for long periods. it has had very many recent ‘service type items' attended to – even to fitting a new/correct gas tank. so no worries of fine particles in the fuel – so it should be a real low cost user to just drive and enjoy.

Lincoln never built bad cars. usually put real quality. care and pride into their cars. often way more so than their competitors. But it was really with the ‘77-79 MKVs they hit the target. outsold main rival Cadillac in those years before new US Laws ended building such quality sized cars ever again.

Even Cadillac lowering their prices trying to compete did not slow the MKVs buyer appeal. And the quality of MKVs was so great/high. that in the US many will tell you the cars were not run in/best until they had done 100. 00 miles. And that they then usually had another 100. 00 miles before needing attention.

Today in America surviving MKVs of real low miles and new condition are highly prized – one just selling for $35. 00. If you are looking to buy one. it is commonsense to avoid one that might look nice in photos. but has seen snow/wet/salted road use. even thought these cars had excellent rust protection.

Plus once you know these quality cars. there are first things you look for/at. to check first to see if the car has been cared for. and/or maybe had the speedo changed/altered to fool prospective buyers – AND too often nowadays one sees ‘Estate Sale' cars. where say a grandson or nephew offers a car with only low miles – saying “done only 31. 00mls” – believing that is all the miles the relation they know owned car from new has done. when in actual fact the car has done 130. 00 miles. and yet MKVs so good. they do not see it – these MKVs do big miles. so DO NOT get caught by supposed low mile deceased estate sellers!! .

There are not a big number of people in Australia who have owned a nice MKV – but if you do. you will really enjoy the car. have great pride and satisfaction from owning/using a car no European or British car will surpass re the build quality and so easy driving it will give.

And come mid 1979. Ford's Wixom Plant rolled out the last of these becoming iconic MKVs. after earlier that year warning buyers ‘get one before they gone forever' – and they were right. if you don't get a good one while they still around. you will never know what you missed.
