1951 Holden 48-215 "FX" 4 door sedan for sale.
Style:   48-215  (Holden sedan)Body:   35519   (35. 19th FX built at Woodville plant. Adelaide)Trim:   17-184   (Altona grey leather)Paint:   253-15924   (New moon blue)ACC:   4  (April build month)Engine:   38083   (1951 6 cylinder grey motor). Last registered on 15/05/1975 (Rego number was "VZ093". This sedan presents itself for sale as a "true barn find" or a "survivor".  To the best of my knowledge the sedan was bought new by it's original owner and then sold in 1975 to the owner whom I bought it off late last year.  The sedan has been repainted the colours you see in the photos at some stage in it's life.  The original "new moon blue" is visible on the drivers door.  It does however look like whoever did the respray did the whole shell inside and out. including door jams.  It appears that new rubbers were used at the time of the respray as they appear in reasonable condition.  The rear door locks are at the front of the passengers door near the B pillar. There appears to be no rust in the doors. panels. sills or floor.  There is however surface rust on the lower frame of the driver's windscreen.  All the glass presents well with no cracks.  The interior is obviously worn and does have wear marks. some rips and tears but it is in it's original leather covering.  The vehicle also has a GM original radio fitted but I do not know if this works or not. If you are after a 48-215 with character and uniqueness then this is the car for you.  If you are looking for a fairly easy restoration. then this is the car for you.  It's the only 48-215 sedan that I know of that has had only 2 previous owners.  It appears that the sedan has been garaged or under shelter most of it's life.  I had to retrieve it from the rear of a 2 car garage and it was covered in dust when I got it out.  With the closure of the Holden plants this sedan is sure to be an investment. The sedan has not been tampered with. molested or had upgrades done.  The rear springs still have the metal wrap on them.  The head liner does show age but appears intact.  The boot mat has seen better days. but like I said. the sedan is all there and 100% original.  The motor turns over by hand but I have not attempted to start it.  My understanding is that the car ran when it was parked many years ago.  The rear bumper is in poor condition but I am not replacing it as it has the tow bar attached to the rear too. I will supply with the vehicle;
Spare wheel. jack and handle. bonnet latch and cross piece and wiper arms. There is no warranty with this vehicle whether inferred or implied. Shannon's Insurance valued the car so I know what it is worth. I am able to provide transportation of the vehicle at a reduced rate. but the cost will be at the buyers expense and would be negotiable. I expect payment within 2 days via Paypal. Direct deposit or cash. And "No" I will not sell parts off it. I would like to see this old girl go to a good home.
