The T-6 Super 90

 

In mid-1961. Porsche implemented a redesigned body for the 356 B. which had first appeared at the 1959 Frankfurt Motor Show. Known as the T-6. the new body included twin rear deck grilles. larger glass areas and an exterior fuel filler relocated to the front right fender. The new 356 still offered three different states of tune to its 1. 82 cc engine. the most powerful of which was dubbed the Super 90. Named for a power output of 90 hp. the Super 90 utilized a higher-lift camshaft and Solex carburetors to achieve an improved compression ratio of 9. 1:1. In combination with improved cooling and an upgraded lubrication system. the high-tune engine provided an unprecedented level of performance for the timelessly styled 356.

 

 

This Car

 

This outstanding Super 90 Coupe combines select ownership and overwhelming originality to result in a benchmark example. According to a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Porsche. this car was originally delivered on June 27. 1962. finished in a sleek black exterior over a black interior. accented by chrome wheels. The Southern California climate provided ideal temperate weather. as the first owner in Costa Mesa. California. retained the car for 43 years. Well preserved and fastidiously maintained during her ownership.  

Acquired in 2005 by the second owner. this dynamic 356 B has since been treated to a quality mechanical freshening by Porsche specialist David Jones of Wapakoneta. Ohio. Mr. Jones rebuilt and calibrated the suspension. rebuilt the Solex carburetors and re-bushed the gearbox. measures that have resulted in a well-sorted car.

 

Impeccably presented. this Karmann-bodied 356 B Coupe features a number of desirable options. including a correct Blaupunkt radio. an electric sunroof. a vintage Leitz luggage rack and a Les Leston wood steering wheel. The remainder is due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 7 days. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it otherwise. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.

 

Additional Fees and Taxes

All California residents must pay applicable state and local tax. title and license fees. Out of state buyers are responsible for their own state taxes and fees. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state. county. city taxes and fees. as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered.

The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.   We will assist the buyer with finding a shipping company. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving our premises.
