DOCUMENTATION - This authentic AUSTIN LONDON TAXI was imported from Mildenhall Great Britain to the Port of Crowder Blvd. . New Orleans USA on July 15. 2003.   The records offered for this automobile will be added to the items you see within this posting.   We are offering current receipts. manuals and current Insurance cards showing legal and insured history with a clear Tennessee Title.   With these details you will not have a concern about titling or insuring in the future.   In addition with this automobile being Diesel and 1972 dated you should have no issues with new-smog inspections. please check your local laws.

OVERVIEW – This automobile was bought by a retired couple who spent countless hours. researching. visiting. calling and test driving classic London-Taxi's…which included a trip to England.   Finally they agreed on this automobile and paid a premium for it in the condition it was in at the time.   The retired Aircraft Mechanical-Instructor (for a FAA accredited Technical College for aviation maintenance (30 years)) and former USAF mechanic  was most attracted to this automobile for the reason that as soon as it was retired from active Taxi use in London (GBR) it was professionally restored by a company that specialized in Austin Taxi restorations.   This is a solid car with an estimated late 1990's / early 2000's restoration done in England…now showing a bit of patina on that restoration.   We know the headliner is original. the reupholstered seats (all) were done in correct fabric. all gauges. switches etc. . are correct as is original signage inside and out from the last day of real-service.   This has the correct engine and drivetrain. with recently replaced and or serviced. oil. trans-fluid and filters.   New. authentic and correct tires (manufactured stamped 2013) spun balanced. new drive belts. glow-plugs & harness. battery and more.   Only item not working is the cable driven speedometer and odometer.   This car starts right up only smokes at start-up as can be seen on the driving videos.   Miles shown and listed are where the Odomoeter has stopped - actual miles unknown. as will state on Title.  Original Austin /and or/ Rover Diesel Engine (correct for car and year) not Nissan.  No A/C - did not come with A/C.  Heater in good working order.

SUMMARY – This car is solid. original and very fun.   Simply step-in. start and drive away with great working drivetrain. brakes and accessories.   This is a very well presented 1972 London Taxi that is all genuine and not over-restored.   The photographs are from a phone and not retouched or modified – straight from the phone.    It is showing some rust / blistering on the top of the rear quarters…aside from that the floors. rockers. doors all solid with a thick vintage ‘black taxi' paint job that gives the air of a well-polished Royal-Guard boot.  This is an automobile that a person could enjoy for years or have restored to Concourse quality without the hassles of not having a complete and well-running automobile to start with.   We hope you will enjoy this automobile as we have for over 8 years…it is simply time to hand the keys over to a loving home.   If you are requesting additional information we will reply as well as we can and post for all to also read.
