1981 FIAT 124 SPIDER PININFARINA 2000. The design of the Fiat 124 Spider is interesting as the theme for this car is derived from a Chevrolet Corvette Sting-Ray concept proposal that was given the name of CHEVROLET CORVETTE RONDINE COUPE. Fiat asked Pininfarina to use this idea for the 124. Ex-Ferrari chief engineer Aurelio Lampredi had a hand in it. The idea for the 124 Spider was born from this Corvette. However. Tom Tjaarda also incorporated his earlier designs of the FERRARI 275 GTS. When you look at the 124 Spider you will see design elements from both cars.
