1959 Triumph TR 3 A - White - LHD
~Beige/Tan Roof & Interior~
The car was purchased whilst my husband was working in the US (Seattle) and brought back to the UK in 1997 and registered in the UK by us (but is still a LHD) We used it on a daily basis. and it was a very reliable car until it went into storage 5 years ago.
The car has been tuned. with engine bored out to 2. 2 L. racing exhaust and cams. and twin 40 DCOE Weber carbs. The overdrive was working prior to storage. but is not working now. this is probably just a sticky solenoid.
The soft top roof fits well and almost fully keeps out the rain.
We put her back on the road in Octoberr 2012 and we did some sill and chassis welding work. and as such she is now sound issues are therefore restricted to cosmetic bodywork (recent works value £2. 00).
She has an MOT from September 2012 as she had been in storage and to show she is completely road worthy she has been MOT'd but as of November 2012 this car is MOT exempt. The car has road tax until the end of September 2013 and she is classed as a historic vehicle so there is no duty to pay.
Wheels are 72 spoke. but we also still have the original 48 spoke ones.
The car comes complete with an Ultimate car cover which specially fits this model of car and retail at £140 (prurchased October 2012).
We have some wonderful memories of driving this car in the US & UK and it is a very reluctant sale due to a change in personal circumstances otherwise we would have continued enjoying our Doodlebug (our nickname for her).
Fully restored these cars retail at over £24 K so pick up yourself a fabulous eyecatching bargain.
