This is my wife's Firebird. my Nova SS shown in the pictures is for sale in a separate auction.
This car left the factory a shade of Red with some chrome trim (drip rail etc. ). the woman we bought it from had it stripped down and painted this beautiful shade of blue and she decided to eliminate the chrome. It gives it a clean crisp look and you would never know / be able to find any evidence the car was ever red. but in the sake of honesty its out there now and I'm sure decoding the body tag would tell you that anyways.
Motor. Trans and Rearend where all rebuilt during that process and have less than 5000 miles on them.
Car runs. drives and stops very nicely---its your basic no frills Firebird with bucket seats and a column shift 2 speed automatic (Its a Buick Super Turbine 300 without the switch pitch converter--only Buicks got that option)
It has 3. 23 rear gears and cruises nice. Engine is the Sprint version of the John DeLorean designed Overhead Cam 6--it has a Rochester Quadrajet 4 bbl and a split 3 and 3 exhaust manifold. Car currently has a Y pipe coming off the split manifolds and going into a flowmaster transverse muffler with a single outlet---this is the way the factory set them up.
It would be easy enough to run true duals from the split manifold but we never did.
Car has blemishes here and there (minor dents and scratches) but no rust to speak of and is very presentable---its a driver class vehicle. take your family and go to shows etc. and enjoy it---don;t be worried about your $25. 00 paint job. Car is not perfect. the price is reasonable.
Gas gauge has stopped working from sitting. I had the car running today after bringing it out of mothballs and it started right up. It does need a headliner. the one that is in it isn;t sagging but got wrecked when a mouse went under the visor and chewed a hole in it. car isn;t infested with mice. I got the little bugger but not before he took out the headliner.
College bills etc. forces sale. we will miss it but not regret it. Kids come first.
Inspections are no problem---make contact with me and I will make arrangements.
