The Trans Am was by far the best looking and performing of all the GM offerings for 1973. Camaros had grown huge bumpers. Corvettes lost theirs and the Chevelle just. well…kinda sucked. The Trans Am though really bucked the trend and really looked good. no excuses. Even the power was respectable and the handling was actually ever improving from a very good base. It is no wonder they are quite valuable and highly sought after. This car is a very well optioned example.

The body on this car is in excellent condition with super straight panels and a very high end. restoration quality. repaint. The quarters are rust free as are the doors. floors and trunk pan. The exterior chrome has all been either replaced or restored. The hood decal was professionally applied and looks very nice. The tail lights were just replaced with new units as was the rear bumper. This one is easily nice enough for indoor shows or would be a great sunny day weekender.

Inside. the car looks much like it did back in 73. The seats are firm. yet comfortable. The interior has all new upholstery. carpet. door panels and headliner that were all professionally installed. The stereo system has not been addressed yet so plan on adding a new receiver to trim out the dash.

Under the hood the engine compartment looks great with correctly colored components and new belts. hoses & hardware. The 455 was disassembled and re-sealed. not rebuilt. It has only been driven a few miles. I did notice there was some slight smoke. it could just need to be driven so the rings seal but with our current weather we can't take it out (we just recorded the wettest October ever). The engine sounds great and during a short drive the torque was impressive.

The car did sit for many years so many of the systems had to be replaced including the exhaust system. fuel tank and lines. brake hoses. wheel cylinders and more. Having all these systems serviced with new parts really helps the confidence factor for road trips and ease of ownership.

The wheels are 17” units from Year One and are wrapped in new rubber all around. They look great and fit very well. They offer a huge upgrade in handling too.

The amount of time it takes for delivery is dependent on the carrier. but is generally 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the shipper for an Estimate Time of Arrival to be sure.

Finalizing your Purchase:

Mainly Muscle Cars will contact the successful high bidder by e-mail after the auction closes.
