1930 Ford Model A for sale
Current customer rating:
This 1930 Model A Ice Cream Truck is one of only a handful of original ice cream trucks to survive. This restored barn-find had been stored for 40 years when it was saved and lovingly restored in 2010. It had a complete frame-off restoration. It has been converted to 12 volts system with an alternator. The engine was completely rebuilt and an oil filter added. It also has a high-compression head which makes it a pleasure to drive. It starts and runs reliably. This meticulous restoration has won 48 trophies.
Wait! Isn't that a '28 or '29?No. actually. that's a common misunderstanding. Ford continued to use the 28/29 body metal on its commercial vehicles through early 1930. Based on the VIN number. this truck is from early 1930. so it all checks out.
Does the Ice Box Work?
Yes it does. however. in the 1930 s they used dry ice. I restored this truck to the original configuration with a separate compartment for adding the dry ice. There is plenty of room for a cold plate/freezer unit if you wanted to switch it. Or you can slide two mid-sized coolers in the back for a simple solution. I've done this several times and sold ice cream at car shows. It's very popular.
