Re-Listed because previous buyer didn't show up - Up for auction is a beautiful 1952 DeSoto S 15 Custom Coupe (So Cal Car).   This two door DeSoto is very rare.   You can find the sedan everywhere but you almost never see coupes in this condition.   This car runs and drives great and can be driven anywhere.   It cruises great at 65MPH all day long with no issues.   Whether you're looking for a car you can just leave as is and cruise around in on weekends. a show car. or a custom lead sled this is your perfect starting point.

The 52 DeSotos are most well known for their big toothy chrome grills that turn heads everywhere; and the beautiful curves of this car just look awesome.   The interior is completely redone and the paint is in great condition.   I'm selling the car because I usually only keep cars for about a year before I'm ready to move on to a new project.   I usually get the cars to a point where they're fun to drive and look good. cruise them around for a few months. then get A. D. D. and decide I want something else.

The car has a clear California Title.

Details:

·         Interior – 9. 5 out of 10 - The interior of this car is all brand new or redone.   We had the dash and other interior parts professionally painted a deep blue color.   The factory wood grain paint was not to my liking so it had to go.   The seat covers. headliner. kick panels. carpet. and sun-visors are all 100% custom and look amazing.   They're custom but retain the original styling and details you'd expect out of a 1950's classic.   The gauges have been professionally redone and are in working order.   The temperature sending unit broke and I haven't found a replacement part that I can just reconnect to the original gauge so it's not functioning right now.   I've installed an aftermarket temp gauge under the dash to keep an eye on the temp (not that I've needed to).   The steering wheel and heater controls are the only thing left to replace or restore.   I haven't found any good replacements or I would have already swapped them out.

·         Exterior – 6 out of 10 – The paint is in good shape and the previous owner claimed the paint is all original.   I think it's the original color but it appears to have been touched up because there is some surface rust that has obviously been touched up.   We considered repainting the car to match the deep blue on the dash but I decided I liked the original baby blue.   It is a classic color and just looks right on the car.   The surface rust is in the usual spots (between the rear fenders and quarter panels and on the sides of the hood where the hood has been opened and closed while not properly aligned.   This is a California car that was recently transported to Texas so the car is clean and in great shape.

·         Drivetrain – 9 out of 10 -  The Flat L 6 Cylinder Engine and Tip Toe 4 Speed Transmission function perfectly and the car runs like a dream.   The Tip Toe transmission functions perfectly.   If you're interested in the car do your research on this transmission so you know what you're getting.   There is a minor oil leak.
