I have enjoyed the pleasure of owning this nice little classic sports car for the past eleven years. Whilst the car has a good strong chassis. underside and floors the paintwork is now showing its age and would benefit from some tlc. Having said that the car is still very presentable with a nice interior that regularly attends local classic car shows where it commands lots of attention. so a classic Alpine to use and enjoy as is or make some ongoing improvements.

The car has 12 months road tax (free) and 12 months MOT with previous MOT certificates dating back to 2000. these show only one advisory in 2001 for an intermittent horn operation.

The engine and running gear are in good condition. The engine shows good oil pressure when hot and there is no sign of overheating on long fast runs. All the electrical equipment and instruments work correctly.

The brakes have been overhauled with new servo. discs. calliper pistons. seals . pipes and flexible hoses.

Front suspension was overhauled with new road springs. shock absorbers. top and bottom ball joints. New top and bottom wishbone bushes and fulcrum pins. New antiroll bar bushes.

New rear shock absorbers. The rear road springs have been re tempered and reset and fitted with new shackle bushes.

A new vinyl hood and seals have been fitted and also a new complete tonneau cover is included. New windscreen and frame to body seals have been fitted.

A stainless steel exhaust was fitted just before I bought the car and it is still in good condition

The chrome and brightwork are in a fair presentable condition.

The road wheels have been replaced with K & N Minitor alloy wheels with Hankook tyres. The seats have been replaced with half leather ones from an MGF which are a big improvement in comfort over the originals

Both original seats and the five steel road wheels are available should the new owner require them.

 The outer half of the n/s/rear inner wheel arch has some corrosion and although this cannot be seen and it has not been an MOT issue.

The body panels are sound although there is some pimpleing at the bottom of the doors and boot lid. The car would benefit from a respray as the paintwork although bright and shiny and looks presentable shows signs of a previous poor respray with the odd sink. chip and crazing here and there that I have tried to highlight in the photos.

All in all a good solid useable reliable genuine Sunbeam Alpine Roadster with the odometer showing a little over 83500 miles that still has its original engine the numbers that match the chassis number.   This Alpine was factory supplied without the overdrive option

Only selling as I am not able to use the car much these days having only covered some 250 miles in the last four years and now need the garage space for different interests.

A non returnable deposit of £100 by Paypal will be required within 48 hours of the end of the auction with the balance being paid only by either cleared funds prior to collection or with either cash. bank transfer or bank draught on collection.
