Technical specifications, photos and description:
Hello and welcome to my auction for a rare 1953 Ford Anglia Van. or better known as a Fordson
The van was originally rodded back in the late 70's/early 80's originating from the South Coast of England. Running a Rover v8 engine. Jag Independent Rear. custom Paint and button Draylon Interior. the van was distinct for its open front end. sectioned Popular front grille and cycle guards over the front wheels with the tubular chrome exhaust pipes exiting out each side of the engine bay.
Since that time the body had deterioated somewhat through normal rust issues and has been replaced with a fibreglass body. with a difference!!
The body has been lengthened approx 10" between the B Post and the rear arch and longer saloon doors have been fitted. This means if you know about vans of this age. you are not looking at the B post if you were sitting inside looking out.
The original lengthened chassis is present. with the Independent front suspension set forward. nbsp;still retaining the look of the vehicle from its first incarnation all those years ago. The wheelbase is approx 106"
It still has the independent front suspension. which has been confirmed is Wisbech and a jag IRS which is loosly fitted merely to move it around.
The body has a fully moulded floor and bulkhead. comes with the rear doors and the front doors. which need work to get the fit just right. The body is very well constructed. not your usual flimsy fibreglass rubbish.
The good news is that the van retains its original identification. registration. 3 plus 3 on the plate and is registered with the correct engine size 3528cc. I have the V5c. new style log book. in my name and the vehicle is currently sorn'd
There is no engine. gearbox glass. interior etc. You are bidding to buy the shell. doors. chassis. front suspension and rear suspension only. Basically what you see in the photos.
To buy this just as bits you would be looking in excess of £5. 00. plus the cost of a correct logbook. if you could find someone who has one to sell you in the first place.
No problems with SVA or BIVA as the vehicle is correctly registered. with the correct engine size. How many Hotrods run with the incorrect description on the Logbook?
And as it is Pre 1960. it will be tax free and MOT exempt.
Now for the important bits:-
You are bidding to buy. not to haggle after you have bought it.
Viewing is recommended especially you are unsure what you are buying. Only bid if you are serious. Bidders less than 20 need to e-mail me prior to bidding.
A £200 non refundable deposit will be required within 24hours of the auction end. Balance to be in cleared funds prior to collection. Collection within 7 days or by agreement
All timewasters will be reported to Ebay.
The van is advertised elsewhere any may be withdrawn at any time
And lastly. you cannot drive this away. it has no tax. no MOT (not that it needs one now due to the legislation changes). it is a project and you will need a trailer to take it away.
