This 1937 Plymouth coupe is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Chrysler bought Plymouth in 1928 but did not start using the name until 1929. It would be in direct competition with the likes of Ford and Chevrolet who pretty much owned the entry level car market. Plymouth was bringing a lot to the table with its heavy duty hydraulic braking an option you could not even get with Ford or Chevy. This 37 is a far cry from the original days of its inline six cylinder days. The first thing you will notice is the bright yellow paint which is definitely an eye catcher. The red stripe is just enough to break it up so it doesn't look like a yellow blob. The chrome wheels are the classic torque thrust design with the classic look filling the fenders nicely. Turn the handle on the hood and lift up to reveal the potent power plant that takes all this metal down the road. The 383 stroker is an awesome power plant that is known for its durability and performance. This one is being fed by a large Holley 4 barrel which is sitting on top of a performer intake which matches that carb perfectly. The high revving 383 is a blast to drive with the power and durability that they have been known for. Hooked up to a built 700 r 4 OD transmission this is one 37 you can actually go 70 down the highway in. Open the door and the black bucket seats not only look good but are as comfortable as they come. They have just enough side bolster to keep you planted but not so much that it feels like your being swallowed by it. As you go to roll the window up and kick on the AC you notice that the handle stops at 90 degrees but the window keeps going. These have to be the coolest window switches I have ever seen.
