This has been my daily driver for the last 7 years. I bought this as a partially done project and I have also done some things along the way. Its got bad points but plenty of good ones and will be an easy project to finish off.

Originally a 1971 VG 215. 3 on the tree. alpine white Dodge ute.

Now has a 4 speed floor shift. 245 on straight gas. Gas system installed at Valiant Spares in Bayswater 4-5 years ago (brilliant subtle job. still looks like a petrol carby car). Donut LPG tank (approx 70 litres/ 60 odd usable) has replaced original petrol tank. Late model bench seat has been retrimmed and notched to accommodate the floor shift. Car is painted a slightly off-white 2pack and has 15” powder coated yankee Chrysler steel rims to match. They take the smaller dog dish hubcaps a la VF and earlier but with late stud pattern. Good Yokohama A-drive tyres. Also has VF fenders and grille. Car comes with chrome ap5 hubcaps that came standard on VF Dodge utes except originals were probably painted.

The cabin has been super cabbed which is ultimately great but it needs finishing properly. The join from the tray needs sealing better as it leaks in to the cabin in the wet. hence the carpet being removed from the car. I have driven it like that for years with the drain plugs removed to keep things dry. I never wanted to just throw silicone at it. Recently I've just tried to keep it under cover and it doesn't really get driven much these days anyway.

Currently has a 2. 92 diff and standard leaf springs but I grabbed another Dodge ute wreck that still has the 3. 23 diff and heavy duty springs that the ute had originally which will come with the car. Extra ute body is completely stripped and pretty cactus but new owner can have it or cut any useful bits off it or whatever.

The car needs some body work. There's a scratch down the drivers side rear quarter. Same panel is also out of shape from old repair and has lost one of its creases (not sure why it wasn't sorted before being painted but that's how I bought it) and there is a ding around left rear tail light and the panel underneath the tail gate.

For the above body repairs I got a quote for $1. 00 from Waddingtons in Castlemaine to straighten and repaint. That was 3 years ago.

The rear guard lips were rolled and there is some rust bubbles appearing on the drivers side as well as some rust coming through on the passenger side panel between the door and the rear wheel (right where the back door would be on a sedan) at the bottom above the sill. This is due to cabin leaking and needs sorting before too long.

Car could also do with a new tailgate to finish it off.

Front end has been rebuilt. Rear needs doing sooner than later but I'd been waiting to put original Dodge ute diff and springs back in but would firstly need converting to late stud pattern.

New brake master cylinder. new pads. heater box re-cored. upgraded to halogen headlights. new seatbelts. headers. front sway bar fitted…

Selling with no RWC or registration. It won't take much to get it back on the road.

Car is in Central Victoria. near Bendigo. near Castlemaine.
