1976 Avanti II Base Coupe 2-Door 6.6L

For auction is my 1976 Avanti ll. This is a driver quality car which is currently registered and on the road and available for inspection and road test. The following is a detailed description of the operating condition and appearance.

Mechanically the car is sound and drives and stops as it should . Everything works 100% with the exception of the cruise control . power antenna and the a/c. I have an antenna on order and will ship it with the car. The cruise control needs the actuator motor which is the diaphram which pulls the throttle linkage. It is a Chevy part and should be available. The a/c also works fine and will blow ice cold but there is a leak in the system and over night it will lose charge. The 400 motor and turbo 400 transmission work perfectly. There is a minor leak at the front timing cover of the engine and it will leave a few drops of oil on the ground over night. There are new front end bushings upper and lower. king pins. front springs. pinion seal. rear brakes. complete Turner brake conversion in the front and a new master cylinder. Complete engine and transmission service just done. The d/s “hog trough” will need replacing . The p/s is ok.

Exterior is in excellent condition. The car is silver and it looks like there may have been some paintwork in the past but the paint is presentable. There is some blushing on the front hood and there is a pea size gouge in the l/r quarter panel tip. There is about a 1 inch chip over the p/s wheel house. The factory body seams show some shrinkage lines which is typical for a glass car of this age. There is a 1 inch stress crack at the base of the p/s A pillar. The rest of the glass body is perfect . the bumpers are excellent. The rubber bumper tips are excellent and the factory driving lights have been updated . The rest of the chrome and stainless trim is excellent also. The car has 4 BRAND NEW magnum 500 wheels and whitewall tires. Less than 200 miles on them.

Interior is in good condition. This car was delivered with a complete leather interior. The seats have no damage and only the slightest wear on the driver seat. The headliner is near perfect with a few minor small scuff marks. It appears that at some point the dash and carpet were beige in color but I cannot find any other evidence the rest of the interior was not originally black. I have seen pictures of the Avanti s with 2 tone interiors where the dash. carpet and sun visors were contrasting. This may be the case with this car. The leather has began to deteriorate on the A pillar trim. inside the C pillar trim and the rear seat quarter panel trim. These are flat panels that can be recovered easily. The rear package tray has been recovered and looks perfect.
