Charger VK 1976 Auto 265 Hemi Daily Drive in Goulburn, VIC

 Reluctantly. my dad at his age feels his collection of cars is getting to be too much for him to look after properly so has asked me to test the water and list his favourite old Charger .
 His description :  It is a VK XL model that came out with a 245  Hemi that has since been replaced with the mighty 265 S block- fully rebuilt with a "stage 2 " cam so has an infectious rolling idle and  breathes really well. Three speed auto retained but always had intentions of converting to 5 speed manual- never happened as I enjoyed driving it more than wanting to take off road for the 5 speed conversion
 Body is pretty much rust-free- especially in key areas like front plenum and base of rear window- rest looks very clean although previous owner told me he used a skim of filler on left hand rear quarter before applying the Vitamin C paint job- not a bad job for a skilled amateur but now 12 years old and showing it's age- bonnet needs respray as black has faded- car still looks good from 10 feet away!  some small bubbles just appearing on bottom of left door. Bottom of left front guard got caught on trailer and had very minor damage- simple to repair. original Aunger on rear window. Front grill has just one little piece missing!
Sold new and always lived in northern Victoria. think I am the 4th owner. nbsp; previous owner had it 9 years - mainly garaged as did the owner before him  for some 13 years apparently.   Body colour original was a dark tan/ orange with the tricolour body stripes - colour untouched on underside of boot lid and can be seen inside doors  as the newer paint  wears off. Boot floor had a  new panel fitted many years ago too. Interior is true  1970's dark brown bar front buckets which I had redone in light colour with intention of re-dying once I decided what colour  I preferred- brown or black- has the centre " 6th " seat fold down squab in the front.
 Suspension. steering and brakes have all been gone over and anything worn replaced so it drives very nicely.   Recent new tyres fitted. Styled steel wheels with centre caps- two caps missing. Nice set of extractors on engine give it a purposefull exhaust note but not loud.
Previous owner also fitted later dash with rev counter cluster but I have the original strip dash to keep it as original. RT steering wheel .
 On Club plates so buyer gets it unreg'd- fair and reasonable reserve set.
