Current customer rating:
Jaguar Mk VIIM 1955 Classic Car
This car has belonged to a retired garage owner (3 rd owner from new) for 33 years and been in dry storage for over 20 years until last year when she was recommissioned and put back onto the road (currently used only to go to very occasional car shows). Now over 80 years of age the owner feels he cannot use the car anything like enough to justify keeping it and would like to see it passed on to someone who will love it as much as he has.
Currently records 80 k miles which is believed to be correct.
Overall a very honest. very original. unmolested example of a now very rare car with a known history going back many years. The Jaguar MKVII was in production from 1950 - 1954. then the MKVIIM was manufactured from 1954 for only two years. The engine size remained the same size (3442 cc XK series straight six). but now the power output was 190 bhp rather than the 160 bhp in the MKVII. The MKVII M has become a particularly sought after model in recent years. with top class examples commanding very high prices.
Finished in Ermin White. the coachwork is solid throughout and needs no repairs (one sill was replaced with a genuine old stock item about 18 months ago). Likewise. the chassis is huge and has never been welded as far as can be seen. Chrome work is all there and very presentable. although it could really benefit from re-chroming. Fitted with the original sliding sunroof from new.
The interior is brown/tan leather and walnut dash & cappings. Again. original and presentable although would benefit from a good leather feed and the wood being re-polished. The original felt headlining is intact. Original door tool kits still in place as is original jack etc. Period AM radio.
The car has the famed 6 cylinder XK engine and. being the rarer M model. has the manual overdrive gearbox. all in perfect working order. as is everything on the car. Excellent oil pressure hot and cold. Starts 'on the button' and drives powerfully and smoothly. The exhaust is probably nearing the point it will need attention in places. but is still doing its job and is perfectly legal - just being honest.
New tyres all round fitted last year since when it has travelled fewer than 100 miles. Comes with various bits and pieces including parts & workshop manuals. old photos plus more.
Currently taxed (free road tax as historic vehicle) and MOT exempt.
This car was previously sold on Ebay and buyer never made payment or made firm details to collect. please do not bid if you are based overseas.
Car must be collected within 5 days of auction end and payment made in full.

from Mark ReedDear Sirs,
I was trying to buy this car on e-bay but was out bid. If the car is still for sale I would be very interested in buying it at a sensible price.
Regards
Mark Reed
