1959 Morris Minor Traveller
What an eye-catching great little woody wagon. It gets 50 smiles to the gallon!
It starts without hesitation. it drives without any issues and it looks absolutely wonderful.
This is a 1959 Morris Minor Traveller. It is an English woody. its original 4-cylinder engine and original transmission. it is peppy for its size. Overall it is only 13 feet long. 4+ feet wide and 5 feet high.
I purchased it from its second owner a few years ago and updated important aspects of it:
> Converted the front brakes from drum/shoe brakes to front disc brakes; new master cylinder
> Converted the old ignition system of points and rotor to electronic ignition in the distributor
> Converted the old style oil filter with cloth membrane for filtration to modern "spin-on" oil filter
> Converted the old lever-style shock absorbers to modern piston shock absorbers
> Converted the English "positive ground" electrical system to the more common place "negative ground" system
> Rebuilt the SU carburetor
> Adjusted the engine valves and replaced the spark plugs
> New wide white-wall tires from Coker
> Repaired small electrical problems with the license plate lights and interior dome light and turn signal switch
> Properly corrected the installation of its radio/cassette tape player (yes a cassette player -- Beach Boys Greatest Hits is included)
> The wood is in great shape!

It is a great little car; fun to drive. But it is not of Concourse d'Elegance quality; which means you can actually use it. It would be a great car to help promote your business! Provided plenty of photos so please look carefully.

NOTE: This car has a manual transmission. To properly and safely drive it. you must be able to operate a manual clutch and know how and when to downshift. upshift and to use engine braking. Morris car brakes are quite feeble -- that is why I put disc brakes up front but you still need to know how to downshift to slow the car.

It is not without its blemishes: as noted. the paint is not of Concourse quality and apparently when the previous owners reapplied varnish to the wood. some dripped on the paint in a few spots; the previous owners bumped into a car in front of them and slightly tweaked the left front fender; the rear "ambulance doors" are misaligned at the top (they open and close and lock without any problems); finally. it is an English car -- it is often said that "the English find an oil spot and build a car over it" -- meaning that it drips oil -- from the engine. transmission and the rear end. That is extremely common with English cars of this vintage.   These cars are also noted for rust problems stemming from the uni-body type construction; this Morris is no exception. but has had all the rust repairs completed and sealed.

What's included? 1959 Morris Minor Traveller. car cover. extra left rear fender (came with the car when I purchased it) Morris Minor tin sign and poster. Morris Minor Club technical sheets. boxes of extra parts.
NOTE:  The Vintage California license plates will ONLY be included if the car is sold to someone in California.   California Release of Interest form will be provided.   If sold outside of California. these vintage (Year of Manufacture -YOM) license plates must be removed.
