Ford Escort Mk1 4 door 1970 2.0 Pinto Twin Webers

Hello and welcome to the sale of this Ford Escort Mk 1. But first. I'm selling this car for a friend. but I know the car very well so I'll try my best to help you if you have any questions.
Its a 1970 Escort 1300 4 door. it was fully restored a few years ago by a previous owner along with many modifications.
Structurally it's in fantastic condition. the floor pan is solid. however unfortunately the bodywork is starting to show its age.
Apart from the few bits of rust shown in the pictures. the paint is in fantastic condition. if you take a step back it looks fantastic and never fails to turn heads.
Engine Spec List
2. 0 8 v Pinto Engine Twin 45 Weber Carbs Piper High Lift Cam Kent Vernier Pulley Big Valve Gasket Set Ported Cylinder Head 4 Branch Exhaust Manifold Full Straight Through Ashley Exhaust Facet Electronic Fuel Pump and Fuel Pressure Regulator
The car has been rolling road tuned by Tom at Wilfield Motors. It currently runs at around 130 hp. this makes for a very nippy drive seeing how light the car is.
This 2. 0 Pinto engine is bolted to a 5 Speed Manuel Type 9 gearbox The car is also fitted with Capri front struts along with front disc brakes to handle the power. The car is believed to be lowered 40 mm. it looks great with the (I believe) Mk 1 Capri Revolution Alloys and Pirelli tyres.
The car is Taxed and MOTed. however the Tax doesn't really matter about the tax as its tax exempt!
The MOT I believe is until August/September but I will have to confirm. the last MOT it sailed through with No Advisories!
The interior has just had brand new carpets and sound deadening fitted. and there are black leather type seats. one has a small cut. but are in good condition.
The car is still registered as a 1. 3.
The private plate. that reads Ellie J. on its own has been valued at over £7000.

The Bad Points
There really aren't that many. the bodywork is starting to rust. but is still in great condition. The rev counter doesn't work. and the fuel gauge doesn't work.
The car has unfortunately been classed off as a cat c in 2010. however. what actually happened is that it was parked in a garage. and somebody drove into the garage door. it did a little damage to to the front end. It has since been fully restored and your really cannot tell anything had happened. To be honest I only found out about this last week! And I've spent a lot of time around the car!It is as solid underneath and looks as straight at it could be.
