1930 Willys-Knight Model 66-B Coupe for sale
Current customer rating: (703 votes ) based onThe Willys-Knight 66-B was produced for only one year (1930). With is 76 horsepower "Great Six" engine. it was one of the hallmark cars of the brand. as well as the period. This 1930 Willys-Knight Model 66-B Coupe has been in a family's private collection since December 5th. 1989. It was purchased from the previous owner in Anacortes. Washington (I've included photos of the car at the time of purchase). The car subsequently received an exterior refurbishing in September of 1992. All documentation from 1989 forward is intact; the car is currently located in Minden. NV.
Condition: The car is in what I'd call "good condition" and is sitting intact. I believe the original shocks are missing. but overall. the car looks complete. Knobs. handles. panels. gauges. trim and the like all seem to be there and original to the car. The overall condition is decent. and in some instances. quite good for its age. The car has been indoors. away from the sun and moisture so no weather-induced damage has occurred.
As noted. the car went through a restoration/refurbishing roughly 21 years ago. The paint was done adequately enough. but is not concours quality. It's a nice paint job. but shows minor imperfections. I doubt it was cut and rubbed. based on the fact that there are minor things that would have buffed out. The photos should tell the tale. but just in case they don't. just know that the car is shiny enough. but it doesn't have a $20k paint job on it. Total cost of bodywork. paint and chrome/nickel plating was a little of $8. 00. Speaking of plating. everything that was done looks to have been done well. The plating looks carefully done and shines nicely.
As you can see. the car has had a pair of Woodlite headlights installed. This was done during the restoration. The owner loved the look of the Woodlites and the addition of them certainly adds value to the car. The original headlights. plus various spare parts come with the car. These are shown in the last few photos.
Interior: I'm not an expert. but I'm guessing that everything is original except the upholstery. As noted. the gauges are all there. set in the wonderful dashboard of the 66-B. which is one of the hallmark features of the car in my book.
Mechanically speaking: The car rolls. turns. stops and such. but the Great Six engine does not currently run. We pushed her back and forth and the fan didn't move. so I'm assuming the engine is seized. The engine and all corresponding parts look to be intact. though.
I realize I've only cracked the surface in describing the Willys-Knight. I'm thus happy to show the car or comprehensively discuss it or over the phone. Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.
