Rare Jensen Interceptor II for sale

Rare Jensen Interceptor Mk II. requiring restoration. This model has the attractive pleated seats with the traditional Jensen-style curved rear seat and the later dashboard incorporating the angled instruments in the centre. It is also fitted with the more powerful pre-emission 6. 3 litre engine and Torque Flite auto transmission. This car has been off the road for more than 20 years. DVLA say the road tax was due in 1990. With the addition of fresh fuel and a battery the engine started and ran. the gearbox drives. even the brakes work though will need refurbishing.
The car is quite complete but does require body renovation. In particular the rear wheelarches. rear valance . lower front wings and valance. bonnet hinge panel. bonnet and front floor pans require attention. but these parts are readily available from Jensen specialists.
The interior is also quite complete but will require re-upholstery. the dashboard has all the instruments and switches present. the lights and horn work.
We have a current V 5 registration document and the car is registered in our name with DVLA. this is an important element in a project car as obtaining a V 5 from Swansea can be very time consuming and frustrating. but this car has a verifiable identity.
Obvious parts missing are the windscreen. bumpers and rear lights. but again these are readily available from specialists.
The Interceptor is now becoming very desirable as a classic car owing to it's outstanding style and looks coupled with relative mechanical simplicity. which makes restoration a worthwhile project. A good Interceptor is now valued in excess of £50000 and so this rare Mk II version is well worth restoring.
