This is the reluctant sale of my original chrome bumper MGB . which needs a new home! Very reluctant sale. but unfortunately it has to go as I also have a MG Midget and i just don't drive both!

This is a good value car for the money. and in tartan red it will turn heads – however please note this is not a pristine concours car. and it is priced sensibly to reflect its condition. Please don't bid expecting to pick up an A 1 car at this price! Anyone who knows about MGBs knows it is a labour of love and always things to do on them. and this is no exception.

Whilst the bodywork is relatively smart. there are flaws. especially some a number of rust spots on the bonnet and a scratch on the front wing (photos). However it is very reliable and a good example for its age.

In terms of the not so goods. whilst there is always more you can do to these cars. the brakes do need some attention. Whilst they work fine. they have developed a squeak when applying pressure –perhaps due to being stood idle for some time. This may well be easily fixable with a strip down and greasing but i want to be transparent. In addition. the bodywork is respectable. but with flaws. Like most MGs. it could probably also benefit from a tune. but it runs ok at present.

Inspections are welcome and encouraged before bidding. The car is garaged in BS 9 (Bristol). . and will be for collection only. Please drop me a line if you are interested and i will endeavour to answer any questions that you have!

Again. i want to reiterate that this is a sensibly priced car. but it is not concours. I want to be clear on this point. because this is not a £15 k car for half the price (which should be obvious. but you never know). Let's ensure we don't waste each others time!

Sorry. but no overseas bidders. Bankers' draft upon collection please.

Thanks Trevor
