LAND ROVER GENUINE SERIES 3 88 IN REGULAR SOFTTOP 4 CYL PETROL 1973 TAX EXCEMPT

This vehicle has been beautifully restored over the summer as a complete nut and bolt restoration.
We are a family business that has been in the Land Rover business now for over 40 years. We acquired this vehicle through the trade and on inspection we saw that this vehicle was so original that we had to take our time with this and bring it back to its former glory. We set to work removing all parts. engine. gearbox and panels to get to the chassis. which was in need of being changed.

Once the new chassis was in place we slowly rebuilt the Land Rover with new parts (listed below) and original parts. The engine was running before we dismantled so we replaced all the side core plugs including the threaded core plug which is above the starter motor. We changed the oil and filter. the fuel pump was checked. the Weber carb was in good condition and the starter motor was all good. The water pump was replaced along with new heater valve. new plugs. points. condenser and new type red rotor arm for reliability.
Gearbox was drained and refilled with new oil. The Handbrake was stripped down and the output oil seal was replaced along with the handbrake shoes. Front axle was stripped down and complete front swivel housing bearings and seals replaced.
Rear axle all good with no faults found. Brake shoes have been replaced with all new brake cylinders all round.

BODYWORK. NEW TOP AND BOTTOM DOORS COMPLETENEW TAILGATE NEW FRONT BUMPERNEW REAR GRAB HANDLES NEW REAR BENCH SEATSNEW SAND FULL SOFT TOP WITH SIDE WINDOWSNEW HOOD STICKS NEW REAR LOAD MAT NEW FLOOR PANELS (only because the new ones looked better than the old)NEW FOOT WELLS
SUSPENSION . NEW ROAD SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR NEW SHOCK ABSORBERS FRONT AND REAR
The vehicle was all finished in Land Rover Marine Blue with Limestone wheels . This vehicle will be supplied with a new MOT.
