1968 Mustang Golden Nugget Special - 330ci Ford Racing motor, 4-speed AOD

1968 Ford Mustang Hard Top Special Edition

This model was a limited edition dealer special in Oregon & Seattle. 483 were sold. out of a total of 525 that were allocated a production slot. The cars were finished in Sunlit gold. (colour code Y. usually followed with a "5" to indicate the black hood and special order number 1111 after the 74 DSO found on the door data tag) with black vinyl roof and indicator lights in the hood recesses. Affectionately known as a ‘Golden Nugget'. it came with the louvered hood with black inserts and the indicator lights. black interior and featured a unique golden plaque on the dashboard with the original owner's name engraved!

This one is believed to be the only one in the UK and is unique. a Ford Racing 330 ci Stroker V8 coupled to an AOD 4 speed gearbox (automatic overdrive). The benefit of this is when cruising at 70 mph it is only revving at 1800rpm and gets gas mileage in the 20's. Hit the gas at 70 and this will kick down and fly. Horsepower is estimated at 400.

Torque Thrust 2 polished wheels enhance this muscle car.

For easy starting and instant power under acceleration it now has an electric fuel pump.

This Mustang is in lovely condition. it is very useable. sounds fantastic and is a sound investment.  Definitely not the cheapest priced Hard Top coupe but this car is honest. unique and fully sorted. You could not buy a lesser car and build it to this spec and standard for this money. With the current exchange rates. you certainly couldn't import one this good from the States. And if it was a fast back example. in this condition with this spec. the asking price would be £10-£15k higher. and from the drivers seat the only difference you would notice is more restriction on your rear quarter visibility.

With the £ / € where it is today. this car is an absolute bargain for European buyers.
