This is the 2nd auction of this great bus. The 1st time the reserve was only missed by a few hundred  so. I am redoing this with a complete list of everything done to this Vanagon Westfalia as well as my spare parts list. I am only looking for serious buyers. If you are new to Vanagons and expect to find something  that is 20-30 yrs old in great shape. span >  and safe and reliable for a bargain under $10k  price. my list might educate you as to what it really takes to make a nice bus. As 1 example: any 1980-1990 bus out there more than likely has front end suspension and steering broken components. rotted rubber bushings and the like. It is a safety issue but also makes it impossible to have a car in alignment. Everything is rusted for 30 years  and its tough and time consuming to replace these things. There are many examples of thinking you are easily replacing an item and 4 hrs later you are still at it or paying someone else to do it.  Have a look at Go Westy  restoration bus pricing and you will gain an understanding of the real retail cost. In my case I was able to do everything myself over the course of 18 months with the bus on blocks in my garage. . So unless you love working on buses like I do. and have the time and money. nbsp;take all of this into consideration when bidding.

So here is the list for this 1984 Full Camper Westfalia--- great restoration

--brand new engine. It was a Jake Lake engine meaning a 1. 9 waterboxer. but he did some work with valves to give it about 10hp more. Engine is just broken in with 60 miles on it and it purrs.

--Vehicle has 97800 miles on it. so not super high for this year. No crashes or wrecks in its history.

--new brakes had been done prior to my start of the project

--New O2 sensor. fuel filter. belts. clean /grease good CV joints. oolant. rake fluid. New oil and filter done after breakin.  These are all big deals.

--this is the cleanest engine compartment you will ever see.

-- new air conditioning compressor. 134 green seals and complete 134a charge. This is rare to find a bus changed over to 134a.

--I rebuilt most all of front end suspension.   Upper and lower ball joints. new front coil springs. torsion bar rubber. stabilizer links. tie rod ends. steering rack boots. etc

--new shocks all the way around

--new fan relay assembly for better engine temperature control

--great Cooper tires . New spare tire and rim.

--all wheels powder coated and new VW hub caps

--upgraded headlight relay kit from Bus Depot. Original 80's Vanagons had terrible headlight power.

--2000 watt Cobra  inverter --- run AC appliances and charge USB while on the road

--Alpine iDA-X200 audio deck and all new Infinity and Sony  speakers. Handles sat radio. ipod. mp3. all USB playback

--new poptop canvas.

--poptop was removed and buffed and polished . All new rubber seals put on. Poptop it self like new.

-new skylight and gasket

--fresh proffessional paint job. not a cheapy. Painted with single stage  industrial acryllic— a cool color in the sun

--“rock it” protective liner on all lower panels. It is functional and a super nice look.

--interior rope lighting—it's a great nighttime look and can be used while on the road via inverter

--powder coated door handles and wiper arms. Locks cleaned by locksmith so they all actually work

--custom front bumper—check it out. None like it. I am keeping Elmo

-rear bumper push pads

--new front and rear bumper rubber facing

--new outside hookups and exterior furnace cover

--new rear hatch gas struts

--new lower front grill

--new heater bypass valve. A real pain to replace but it controls heat/defrost. Usually froze on other buses

-new rear hatch weather strip

--new window trim strip all the way around. Every other bus you will find window rubber and trim will be dried and broken

-extend a stay LP gas kit from Bus Depot—cool option to run extra propane tanks when camping

--front tinted  window air/rain deflectors

-new tail lights

--new camper kitchen water pump and faucet

--fridge was cleaned and serviced and ok-d by a RV center

--Thule roof racks

--replaced sliding window locks. Most buses these don't even work

--all glass is great no cracks

--all interior great. dashboard great w no cracks. all seats and cushions great w no stains or tears. White shag carpet is a bonus.

--all seats were removed and professionally cleaned

--new side mirrors

--tables and curtains all great

--rear trailer hitch

--VIN wv2zb0256eh072907  Mileage 97800

When starting this project I found additional motors so I would have future spare parts. All of these parts are known good and clean. This is all valuable stuff probably worth $900 on its own.

--radiator and complete fan assembly

--2 spare heads. 1 valve cover . x gaskets

--alternator

-starter

-air intake sensor and air regulator

-complete distributor and new cap

-good water pump

I love this bus and want to give it a good home. For those wondering why  I am selling. I have another bus. a classic car. boat . motorcycle and am running out of space. My main thing is that I enjoy working on them but have little time to take it traveling. I also have more pictures and can answer any questions. I am also happy to help you in organizing shipment of the bus.
