1967 MG Midget MKIII for sale
Current customer rating:
1967 1275 cc MKIII chrome bumper MG Midget with 232. 0 miles and 83. 00 miles on complete professionally rebuilt engine in 1991.
I have owned this car since 1991 and throughout the years have slowly restored it and driven it on a regular basis with times used as a daily driver. Recent repairs/parts include new tires with less than a thousand miles. blue tooth CD Sony radio. and tune up in 2014 (valves and carbs adjusted). new rear leaf springs. front shocks. and new steering wheel in 2012 are some of the recent highlights of this well maintained car with all original records from 1999-2016. Great modern upgrades include electronic ignition. polyurethane rubber bushes. stainless steel brake cables. two new one barrel su carbs (2002). new clutch. slave cylinder. and water pump (2008). chrome air filter. MG custom mats and spin on K&N oil filter. It looks and drives great for a car almost 50 years old. Exterior has no dents. chrome in good condition with some pitting. minor rust on lower outside driver side door. bent rear bumper bracket in interior trunk from rear end collision from 1992 and windshield pitting on original windshield. Minor slow speed rear end collision in 1992 and right front end fender collision in 1993 repaired by local body shop.
Interior is great: non smoking. no pets. no rips on seats (reupholstered in 2005). convertible top dime size hole and plastic window getting cloudy. with minor rips on door cards and carpet near shifter.
Engine is non numbers matching but still strong. Transmission is geared like a tractor so I drive it out of second gear without any problems. Car will get stuck in first gear if parked in gear on a hill or driven fast out of first gear thus I've learned to drive it out in second gear. Like all British cars it leaks oil. mostly from the main rear bearing seal. Overall it's a drivers car with full size spare tire. repair books and two car covers one never used. The list of all parts replaced. rebuilt. adjusted or serviced is way too long. but I have the complete original records from 1999.
It's a good to excellent car based on Hagarty descriptions. but not perfect. I've describe the car how I see it. I would prefer to sell this car locally to someone who could actually come by and see it. but I would also be helpful with an airport pick up (Sacramento) for out of town buyers.
Please do all your "due diligence" BEFORE placing a bid. This is a wonderful almost 50 year old classic car and it will be sold "as is". "where is" and without a warranty . If you have any questions or would like to come out and see it. please send me a note through Ebay and I will get back to you quickly. The balance must be payed in full in 72 hours. via bank transfer. Paypal. cashier check or cash. no exceptions. After the end of bidding. the car can't be pick-up or inspected until fully payed.
