Since the beginning of Dodge they have offered light truck models. for the first few years the trucks were built on the platforms of their existing vehicles but soon were produced on their own chassis with their own body designs. Light and medium duty models were only available at first. then a heavy duty lineup was added during the 1930’s and 1940’s. This 1946 Dodge is a medium duty truck produced on the 119. 5 inch wheelbase platform with a very dependable drivetrain starting up front with the 230 cubic inch inline 6 engine these inline 6 cylinders might not have a ton of horse power. but they were definitely built to last. Following up the engine is the 3 – speed manual transmission that shifts flawlessly and makes this Woody a real fun truck to drive. This 1946 Dodge has been fully restored with only 100 miles since the work was completed. The restoration has given the truck a stunning look with the fresh coat of Cappuccino Hue paint and the wood panel sides that were given extra care with the finish to make the wood look as if it were still back in the 1940’s. With such low mileage this truck runs and drives beautifully and with nothing more than just regular maintenance will remain this way for many years to come.
