An amazing opportunity for a collector. This UK-supplied 1996 SL 500 has covered just 24. 21 miles from new in the hands of just two owners.
Supplied new by Jacksons of Jersey on 25/01/96 to a Mr Knight. finished in Brilliant Silver with contrasting dark blue interior and fabric roof. Mr Knight kept the car 19 years until 2015. It has been in the hands of one collector since.
This SL retains all its supplied keys. books manuals and tools. It has a full and comprehensive service history. The service book records thirteen stamps (less than 2000 miles between each service) backed up by paper invoices. The services were carried out by the supplying MB main agent. Jacksons. until 2002. after which they were all performed by MB trained specialist Ruellan's Garage of St. Helier. In December 2015. once on mainland Britain. a service was carried out by Mercedes Eastbourne.
Of 500 models. the ‘96/97 years are the most desirable as they mate the more powerful M 119 engine with the Mercedes' excellent 722. 6 five-speed automatic transmission. Later cars switched to the less powerful M 113 engine. while earlier models used the less flexible four-speed gearbox.
The car is unmarked throughout and in a condition that would satisfy the most discerning collector.
Being the sought-after 500 model in superb colours with a tiny mileage and fantastic history. it's a car that really does tick every box.
