The Custom Cloud story is a very interesting one which revolves around entrepreneur and auto enthusiast Jon Tedesco. In the mid-seventies. he recognized that Americans were in love with the concept of foreign luxury cars. especially the Rolls Royce. Since it was out of the financial reach of most of the population. he set out to build an image car that more people could afford. Using a new Chevrolet Monte Carlo. he added design cues and some actual parts from a Rolls Royce to create the Custom Cloud. When the car came to the attention of the British firm at the New York Auto Show. they acted quickly to put an end to this venture.  As a result. only a couple hundred or so were ever built even though public reaction in the States was very positive. A Custom Cloud was featured on the cover the March. 1976 issue of Car and Driver magazine.

I purchased this car from the original dealer seven years ago.  As a Chevrolet dealer. he ordered it new as a traffic builder for his showroom. He personally used it sparingly over thirty years. accumulating less than 20. 00 miles! Since he was the original selling dealer. it was never titled and was kept on its original Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) from General Motors. dated February 26. 1976. As a result. this is still technically a brand new car. most likely the only one of its type!

The car is in overall very good original condition as to be expected from a vehicle with such low mileage. Keep in mind. the seventies were not exactly the high point for automotive engineering in the States. It runs and drives as a basically new GM product of its day should. The 400 cubic inch V8 with a two barrel carb produces smooth and adequate power. The transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are flawless. The original Michelin tires defy their age and the lifetime warranty card is still with them! The Ansen Wire Wheels they are mounted on are perfect for this vehicle. The interior is as new with no wear on the vinyl. All gauges and accessories work. The paint is of average seventies quality and shows a few cracks near the areas where the fiberglass body panels are bonded. The padded roof has shrunk a bit with a couple cracks. Overall. the car is an amazing time capsule of a disco era dream machine.

Over the past few years. other cars have taken my attention and I drive the Cloud less than I should. although it served us well for our daughter's wedding last year. Having owned it for seven years. I know it very well and will be happy to answer any detailed questions you may have. I also have more high resolution photos which were to large for the eBay system.  Personal inspection and test drives are also welcome. I have set a very fair Buy It Now price considering its condition and low mileage plus the fact that it is still on MSO. The lucky winning bidder will pay a $1. 00 deposit with 48 hours of the auction end. The balance will be due in seven days. I can store the car inside for up to thirty additional days at no cost. I will be happy to help coordinate shipping but the expense is solely the buyer's. Thank you for your interest and good luck!
