HISTORY
I bought this Cabriolet. straight after it was imported in 2013 from Minisotta USA.  In fact I swapped it for a Porsche 944 Cabriolet.
1 owner in the US and me. 3 sets of original keys. 2 X still with supplying dealers tags on them. Original supplying dealers hand over folder. It has been painted around 15 years ago in the USA. Then was put into storage.


UK STATUSMOT'd till April or May 2016. 71. 00 miles.  RFL runs out this month. All import duties paid and registered in the U. K. I am the first owner in the U. K.

BODYThe colour is River Blau Metallic. nbsp;an absolutely cracking colour.  
Some age related chips and scuffs etc.  No body rot or floor pan rot at all on last inspection when it was MOTd this year. Odd scuff and scratch. but nothing major requiring paint. No bubbles in paint.  Hood bra covers a stone chip on the bonnet. only small. Don't want to paint bonnet as it will lose that preservation look. Period original Kamei engine lid rain cover fitted. Period petrol flap surround chrome cover fitted. Very rare part. Door bottoms solid and rear quarters absolutely solid no rot and no filler
Not seen rain whilst I've had it. except getting caught in shower at a show 4 weeks ago. Paint is not concurs. given it was painted some 15 years or so ago. but looks stunning.

HOODNew mohair hood and inner padding fitted last year. As well as all new hood to Window seals. with the frame tidied up. with only dry sunny weekend summer mileage. the roof is never up.
ENGINE/MECHANICS/HEATERSStrong original Fuel Injected engine and gear box. heat exchangers and single tip exhaust. all solid. EGR indicator in central clock. Orig EFI brain with new fuel pump relay.  Still running on orig fuel pressure return evaporator and charcoal emission filter (under O/S rear wing)Serviced every year. by me. although has only done 300 or so summer miles. Heater channels solid. never changed. heaters/cables all work. nbsp;
ELECTRICSall perfect. wiring has not been butchered. all original. ECU behind rear seat. with original cover. Indicators still work to USA spec. and it passes the MOT with this. EGR light light comes on. on ignition then goes out. Orginal EGR speedo counter still present under the hood. with reset button. Original Blaupunkt bluespot am/fm radio cassette fitted. with original aerial.
INTERIORClock works. blower works. leather rimmed Wolfsburg steering wheel.  Complete new rubber floor mat from VW heritage. Covered with carpet matsDash board solid no cracks or silly holes cut in it. All Door cards original. with no silly holes cut in them for speakersSquare weave vinyl seats with original front headrests. all perfect. except for drivers seat left hand squab and bolster. the vinyl is cracked on this.  All switch gear works perfectly. Original Headlining is a little saggy around rear window. HOOD hinge covers are original. one is cracked but looks fine. The 911 club sport steering wheel dos not come with the car. it's mine. It comes with the original Wolfsburg wheel. Original factory warning stickers still on rear door cards. Original factory chassis sticker still on N/S door aperture.

CHROMEAll chrome is as near as perfect as it can be for a 37 year old car. Big US telescopic bumpers with original rubbers. windows chrome perfect. with all seals present. Front big US chrome indicators perfect.
GLASSall original factory glass. all windows work perfectly. Slight small chip in windscreen. bottom left hand corner. but not an MOT fail.
WHEELS TYRESNewly powder coated. date stamped GT lamertz stamped wheels. 4 X new Verstein tyres. 4 X centre caps and nut covers. Original never used whitewall spare on GT rim. Under hood. liner is original. with hard board spare cover still present.  
DOWN SIDEDown side. original drivers side seat left hand squab. the vinyl is split. but totally original. head liner saggy around rear window. but didn't want to replace it for a non standard factory item. Original hood bag. Both hinge covers present. one slightly cracked. but orig. not fibre glass replacements.

WORK CONDUCTED IN MY OWNERSHIP
New 12v fuel pump Near Fi relay fitted to the ECUAll steering gear and front suspension powder coated. new ball joints. track rod ends and damper inserts.
Car had laser 4 wheel alignment in 2016.
New cill strengtheners fitted both sides 2 years ago. stone chipped and painted. New front lower inner arches fitted 2 years ago. stone chipped and painted. fuel tank cleaned and relined 3 years ago. All welding was done by by a VW specialist
